Last week I flew up to San Francisco to check out the upcoming music game DJ Hero. How was it, you ask? An absolute blast! Let’s just say the game felt a little more Harmonix than Neversoft, and considerably different than Guitar Hero. I think I sum it up well:
DJ Hero has always been my own personal wild card pick for this year’s batch of music games. Based on what I’ve seen, it is definitely living up to my expectations with some great original new gameplay and extensive amount of music hitting on a variety of styles. Freestyle has really brought their A-Game to this effort, and it stands poised to inject new life into the rhythm game craze.
Oh, and I should definitely mention the fact that at the end of the night we were handed a messenger bag with a wired turntable controller and a demo of the game to take home (see pictured).
